Nick Norris – Keyword Struggles

So, if you recently stumbled upon this site, you were probably looking for some other Nick Norris, and not me. I hope I didn’t disappoint you too much. Well, since I first started this site, I have ranked pretty low for the keyphrase “Nick Norris”. At one point, I was on the 2nd page of Google, which is pretty bogus, but today, I was pleasantly surprised. I am officially #1 in Google for the search term Nick Norris. The .com version of my URL belongs to some artist that I have loathed since my first shot at this keyword placement. Now I can officially stick it to him with a big “nanny-nanny-boo-boo” because I am that awesome.

Keep in mind, this keyword is pretty tough to rank for. It may seem at first glance like it would be super easy to rank for, but it wasn’t. Apparently, there was this actor back in the 1960′s that had the same name as me (but he wasn’t as cool). Based on some of the sites that his name was on, the competition was a little more stiff than I would have thought. Plus with that artist dude all up in the mix, I had to build some credibility.

So, I went around the web, got some pretty sweet backlinks, and look at me now… Numero Uno!!! I’m the #1 Nick Norris in the WORLD!!! At least from Google’s standpoint.

It feels pretty good to be in the top position for having such a common name. If you don’t believe me, go to Google, and search for “Nick Norris”…
