Bing.com – What’s your take on it?
So, I have been on the fence as to whether or not I like bing.com. I mean, on one hand, I am a die hard Google user. On the other hand, it’s kinda cool seeing a new search engine take flight.
I think that Bing is going to be pretty popular. They are advertising on TV, Radio, and all over the web. Not to mention, they have a catchy name, and a nice feel that users can look at all day.
I am already trying to compare the search results with Google so I can properly optimize for it, but the problem is, I do not understand their results. Some results are old and outdated, other results are new and reliable. I can’t seem to find the balance though. I assumed that they place heavier weight on backlinks, but I don’t think that’s the case (to be honest, I think they are placing heavy emphasis on keyword density [which would not be a smart move on their part])… I haven’t done a lot of research yet, but I plan to in the next couple of weeks once I find out more about the sites that they are ranking and research those sites. Since I have very limited time, it may take a couple of weeks, but I will post my case study as soon as I am done.
If you have info that you would like to share, go ahead and share it here in the comments!

Nothing Microsoft has put out since like 1998 has been a success, ads…whatev’, Google has the resources and the strangle hold on this to hold it down, remember when Microsoft tried to buy yahoo, Google retaliated and put out a word processor that I know use exclusively. New Apple store opening in Scottsdale, Google acting the way Microsoft did in the 1990′s, for me Microsoft is officially toast, but that’s just to me, maybe they will make more boring ads….
I wouldn’t go so far as to say toast, but they definitely face stiffer competition and brand loyalty with Google. I mean, the phrase ‘google it’ has been universally adopted, and Microsoft knows this – that’s why Microsoft is belittling google all over their ads on TV. It’s really friggin lame. They have a commercial of two people talking and one of the people is just spitting obsolete information, and the other person is confused. They are basically saying that Google is full of old news, but they could not be more wrong. If someone does ANY research, they will find that Google’s search results are much more accurate than Bing’s results. Plus, Google has the Scholar portal which can almost bury bing if people are looking for truly legit info.
So I say, “Bing it, it’s already been bung…”
that scholar function isn’t as dope as it should be, and it mainly pulls from Jstor and ebsco host, which you need a university log in or a subscription to access. But it is a great start off point when doing Scholarly Research, just not as deep as the real research Databases.
But Microsoft has to really sell there shit to beat Google, Firefox, Apple, any new and exciting competition, which Microsoft has never really dealt with before, they are used to being king shit.
Even the Iphone destroys the 1000x Micosoft powered phones, Xbox is the only cool thing they have going.
