I’m a sucker for all things awesome, and when it comes to awesome SEO tools, I get giddy and downright annoying. I had a developer friend hook me up with the Scriptalicious SEO Script so I could give you a full fledged walk-through of this amazing script’s capabilities. It’s pretty impressive, especially if you’re on a tight budget and need great SEO tools. It’s only $50!

At first, I thought this was going to be like every other SEO script - you know, the kind that does a bunch of stuff that doesn’t really matter (ie. PR Checker, Keyword Density Checker, Keyword Extractor, etc..). But when I finally saw the script, I was pleasantly surprise with the myriad features. I have a demo site set up here if you don’t want to read this post, and feel like diving in head-first. It does contain everything that I mentioned above, but it also has some other very powerful SEO tools.

Competitive Analysis Tools

Backlink Checker – So, you want to know how your competition ranked #1 for a specific term, but you don’t really know where to begin, well this is the spot. This tool will allow you to see how many backlinks any site has. All you have to do is key in the URL, and press continue. A few seconds later, you will know how many links that site has. That will lead you into the next feature.

Link Analyzer - This will show you the link details for every incoming and outgoing link on a webpage. You simply enter the URL, and BAM, you will have a list of URLs coming into any website. This is great to know where your competition is getting their links. It helps you find great places to link from. It’s a perfect complement to the backlink checker.

There are several other tools available for competitive analysis, you just have to see them for yourself.

Link Development Tools

Link Suggestion Generator – This tool is very impressive. It’s basically a serp scraper that gives you search a few simple search commands and search types (blog, directories, etc…). All you have to do is enter your keyword, and you will be given a list of results. There’s also a nice text box so you can copy/paste your results into a nice list for later use.

Link Extractor - If you want to dig deeper into your competitive research, this is a great tool. You just enter a URL to any site, and you can see specifically which sites they link to. This is a great way to see what kind of site any other site is attracted to. It can also give you some leverage when requesting links from other sites (example: “I noticed that you link to xxx, yyy, zzz, and 111, I have similar content, blah blah blah…“). Website Rank Checkers

Ok, so I was a little confused about this. I thought that there was going to be a legit rank tracker here, but the tools provided in this module are pretty much the same (PR, Alexa, Compete, etc..) tools that you can find with other similar scripts. They are very useful, and a great addition to other tools found in this script.

If you want a legit rank tracking script, check this one out. It’s a $20 script that is well worth the cost. I’ll buy a copy and add it to my site as another demo soon. It checks Google, Yahoo, and Bing rankings for a list of keywords. It’s a great script. Very high quality.

Social Web Tools

As you probably know, I don’t like Digg anymore, but there are a lot of people who still do. For those who do, here’s a super cool social tool. The Digg Link Checking Tool scours through digg looking to see how many articles have been submitted to digg from a specific domain. I had a few problems with this module, because it was returning an “N/A” response, even for sites that are heavily present on digg. This probably has something to do with Digg recently changing their site, and not the script itself.

Twitter Links Finder – This is a very cool way to check you link presence on Twitter. You have to type in the exact URL as it appears in on twitter, so if you shorten a URL using bit.ly, make sure you’re checking the bit.ly URL, not the page URL, makes sense, right? Of course it does, but it seems to ba an issue for some users.

I wanted to keep this review short, because sometimes it’s better to just try the tools out for yourself, and this script has so many modules, 77 to be exact, that it would’ve taken me 2 days to write this post, and I wanted to get it done fast.

Fiverr.com – The $5 Marketplace

A couple weeks ago I signed up for Fiverr to see what all the fuss was about. People on all of the forums I attend were telling me that I should sell some of my automated processes on there and make some extra dough. It sounded like a pretty good idea, so I decided to give it a whirl, and this is what I found.

Another pretty cool update from Google this morning was that you can now call cell phones directly from Gmail.

Calls to the U.S. and Canada will be free for at least the rest of the year and calls to other countries will be billed at our very low rates. We worked hard to make these rates really cheap (see comparison table) with calls to the U.K., France, Germany, China, Japan—and many more countries—for as little as $0.02 per minute.

I was reading about Google showing more results from a domain in their results. This is good for several reasons, but it is not anything to get too excited over, because the buzz is stupid, just like the update.

Today we’ve launched a change to our ranking algorithm that will make it much easier for users to find a large number of results from a single site. For queries that indicate a strong user interest in a particular domain, like [exhibitions at amnh]

How is this any different than the normal sitelink alorithm (besides the amount of links displayed)? This is making a bunch of people think that Google is changing something about what they think is relevant in their algorithm, but I have a different theory, and I think mine makes more sense.

I think that since the Yahoo! and Bing Collabo announcement came out, Google is losing ground on how “awesome” their search engine can be. This is one of those “one-up” situations like: “Oh yeah, Yahoo is powered by Bing, but now we display more results in sitelinks, so we’re still ahead of the curve…” Most likely, this is one of those situations where Google has nothing cool to throw around, but they still want to be heard, so they’re changing stupid stuff and calling them algorithmic changes to excite the stupid.

 I’m going to put myself out there and say that this will have no impact on your current rankings, and if you blame your ranking failure on one small change in the SERP display algo, you deserve to lose whatever flimsy rankings you had in the first place. This is standard “we are still relevant” behavior.

This post is probably not for everyone, but I wanted to share what I found today because it was a pretty good find.  

So, if you use Bookmarking Demon, you are probably always looking for a solid list of Pligg, Scuttle, and PhpDug sites. I was able to find a recent list that has a fair amount of active bookmarking sites.

(Huge List Provided Via: Mark Rushworth) I know that 10,000 pligg sites seems like a lot, but in all reality, only about 2,400 (which is still a great amount) are active websites, and the rest are either dead or no longer active pligg sites. I assume, based on history working with these types of sites, that maybe 25-30% of these will be around in a year, so if you’re needing some quick low quality links, then you probably want to get started.

I’m also working on a list of my own. I have BCD running right now harvesting TONS of URLs for Pligg and PHPdug. When I left it was over 1100. I’m probably not going to share all of what I find, but I will definitely post some of the sites on here when I finish scraping.

I’ve been looking for myself lately because I found that I am getting higher quality pligg sites. When I was buying lists, the sites were so heavily spammed that they were useless. My success rates were going from 75-80% to 25-30% because of how many people are spamming the web these days.

If I find some high quality sites that work with BMD, I’ll let you guys know… Thanks for reading..
